The holiday season is nearly upon us, and that means you need cocktails; lots of them. This Fall Spiced Sangria recipe is the perfect place to start.

Most folks don’t associate Sangria with Fall (or Winter) in Colorado. But, what most folks don’t know about this intoxicating Spanish beverage, is that Sangria’s name derives from the Latin word for blood (thanks to the hue imparted by the red wine used in its making). It’s the perfect post-Halloween, pre-Thanksgiving beverage to kick your indoor season into gear.

While there are Sangria purists (we appreciate your commitment to tradition!), in 2021, this storied drink might include any number of unexpected ingredients – including Locke + Co Aspen Aged Rye Whiskey.

Whatever your preference, Sangria is the perfect holiday cocktail party drink. It’s easy to mix in batches, and it makes dealing with your creepy uncle easy (every person has one).

That’s why we were thrilled when our friends at Urban Life Wash Park decided to highlight the unique flavor of Locke + Co Aspen Aged Rye Whiskey in their Fall Spiced Sangria recipe.
